What is Project Find Michigan?
"Child Find" is a federal component of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

"Project Find" is Michigan's term for "Child Find." The Michigan Department of Education, Office of Special Education, and Early Intervention Services funds the project.

Project Find Michigan is a statewide system of service that promotes awareness of special education supports and/or services provided by the public school system. "Project Find" networks and offers information for children and youth ages 3 to 26 who have disabilities in areas such as physical, social-emotional, speech & language, or cognitive impairments that may affect their educational performance. These conditions may make the child or youth eligible for special education services provided by the public school system in Michigan. Special education rules govern the services.
