Durand Schools to Establish Foundation

The Durand Board of Education recently took action to allow community members to create an educational foundation for the district. The foundation will be formed as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and will provide funding to support programs and projects for students in kindergarten through twelfth grades.The foundation will allow interested individuals and businesses to support the district, knowing that their funds will be dedicated to educational enrichment for students of the district. The foundation will be managed by a volunteer board of directors.The district is seeking individuals to be founding members of the Durand Area Schools Educational Foundation Board of Directors. Individuals interested in being considered to serve as foundation board members should contact Cindy Weber at 989.288.2681 or weber@durand.k12.mi.us.
